The perfect addition to any lamp or small appliance such as fans and radios, this beautiful fabric covered electrical wire and antique style plug is a great way to replicate that vintage industrial age charm.

This kit includes 8 feet of wire and your choice of plug (Wide White, Wide Brown, or Round Black). Need additional length? No problem, just add the additional length needed from the per-foot wire listing and leave us a note at checkout for us to combine the lengths (so for a 12 foot cordset, order this 8-foot cordset plus 4 feet from the cords per-foot listing, and tell us you want them combined!)

This is BRAND NEW reproduction antique style 2-wire, 18 gauge (known as 18/2) flat parallel wire. Each wire is a stranded copper insulated wire (much like standard wiring of today), the wires are joined together similar to modern day 2-prong extension cords, then it's covered in a braided rayon fabric. The fabric is smooth and shiny, similar to old industrial age silk covered wiring.

My only complaint/suggestion is that the diameter of the hole at the rear of the plug is much larger than the diameter of the cord so it does not have a tight fit or a finished look. A grommet of some sort would complete the set and make this a truly great product.

REPLY FROM SHV: Hi Matt thank you for the feedback. Regarding the plug opening, that is the design of these plugs (and also many vintage style plugs), they were made to be easily taken on and off, worked on and replaced as needed, and used for a multitude of different style cords, all of which may be different sizes, gauges, physical diameters, etc, so the opening needs to be larger to ensure it can accommodate that variety. The cord you chose was the smallest of our cords, and thus leaves the biggest opening, completely safe and normal as per manufacturers instructions, and also true-to-vintage era, but if you choose to want to fill in the hole, some opt to dab some black silicone in there, or use a strain relief piece, or other grommet, in our eyes though it generally does not add to the beauty of the plug, or the function of it, often times it can actually take away from both of those rather than improve, but to each their own!
