The perfect addition to any lamp or small appliance, this beautiful cloth covered lamp cord with a plug is a great way to replicate that vintage charm.
 
This kit includes 8 feet of wire and your choice of plug (Wide White, Wide Brown, or Round Black). Need additional length? No problem, just add the additional length needed from the per-foot wire listing and leave us a note at checkout for us to combine the lengths (so for a 12 foot cordset, order this 8-foot cordset plus 4 feet from the cords per-foot listing, and tell us you want them combined!)
 
This is BRAND NEW, antique style 2-wire, 18 gauge (known as 18/2), and a BRAND NEW plug . Each vintage style lamp wire is a copper insulated wire (much like standard wiring of today) then covered in a braided cotton or rayon cloth. The fabric is soft and colorful, similar to old cloth covered wiring. A simple rewiring can really breathe new life into an old fixture, if you're unsure of how to do it there are many step by step instructions and videos that can be found online, it's easier than you think!

Table-top, floor, and pendant lights as well as many other applications, include wiring fans and small appliances. Wire is not intended to carry a heavy load, and should not be used for larger appliances, high heat settings, or to carry other heavy electrical currents.

    So working in older houses I have come across a little bit of everything when it comes to old electrical equipment. The one unique thing I came across was old knob and tube wiring. Now with this being said seeing this twisted wiring inspired me to make my own little creation using old knobs from decommissioned knob and tube ceramic tubes. I actually took the old ceramic tubes and used it to hang this twisted wire up the side of my wall and I will say I love the look and the quality of this wire not only looks awesome but its got that vintage look!

    I like it as its simple since its complete already. I just need to figure out how to get it in 10ft sections so my bad.

    Reply from SHV: Glad you like them, we can make them in longer lengths, all you have to do is add the 8' cordset to your cart, then also add the additional length from the per-foot listing of the cord. For example 10 feet, buy the 8' cordset plus 2 additional feet of the wire from the per-foot listing, we'll combine it into one 10' cordset. Thank you!
