The perfect addition to any lamp or small appliance such as fans and radios, this beautiful fabric covered electrical wire is a great way to replicate that vintage industrial age charm.
This is BRAND NEW reproduction antique style 2-wire, 18 gauge (known as 18/2). Each wire is a stranded copper insulated wire (much like standard wiring of today) then covered in a braided rayon fabric. The fabric is smooth and shiny, similar to old industrial age silk covered wiring.
NOTE: This black twisted cloth covered cord is also available in a Rayon covered twisted wire, the main difference between the two is cotton is a less shiny more subtle color, and rayon is a shiny more vibrant color.

Black twisted cotton covered wire
I keep buying this wire from Snake Head Vintage over and over and over again. I am about to rewire 2 antique Vaseline glass floor lamps using this wire. Not only is the wire superior but it accentuates the esthetic of my antique lamps. I will be back for more for my next rewire. Buy this wire, you will not be disappointed.

color of the Black cotton covered wire
The color of the Black cotton covered twisted pair 18 ga. wire appears more like Navy Blue than Black.
Reply from SHV: I suggest looking at it under a different type of light (especially if you are under LEDs or fluorescents, which can cast a strange hue on things). The black cotton cloth is more of a vintage black (not a jet-black), but should look more along the lines of an aged black cotton t-shirt. For a more jet-black look, try our black rayon cloth cord. -
