The perfect addition to any lamp or small appliance such as fans and radios, this beautiful fabric covered electrical wire is a great way to replicate that vintage industrial age charm.
This is BRAND NEW reproduction antique style 2-wire, 18 gauge (known as 18/2) flat parallel wire. Each wire is a stranded copper insulated wire (much like standard wiring of today) covered together side by side in a braided cotton fabric. The fabric is soft and vibrant, similar to old industrial age cloth covered wiring.

Outer jacket vintage, wire insulation not.
More than adequate for my needs. Inner wire pair is plastic jackets. No plastic in 1928!
Reply from SHV: Our wires are modern inside for safety, vintage style cloth on the outside for authentic looks. Trust us, you don't want 1928 era insulation, it's one of those areas were modern truly is better. Also all listed in the description: vinyl insulation over stranded copper wire (modern electrical standards), authentic outer cloth braiding. -
Fantastic Lamp / Fan Wire
I purchased this wire as a nearly identical replacement or the original wiring of a late 40's GE Vortalex fan. The soft finish of the wire is very appealing. The flat pair was easily separated, stripped and tinned. I would highly recommend this as a product that performs well with a color and finish that is very fitting for many re-wire projects demanding an appropriate period looking power cord.
