Beautiful, unique and sturdy, these vintage style light bulb sockets are absolutely the best quality around, they're cast brass and have a screw on base instead of the plated brass and snap-on base like cheap run-of-the-mill sockets. And what makes these even more special? Their ability to dim and brighten a light bulb controlled right from the sockets knob! Turn the knob, the bulb clicks on, than as you turn the knob further the bulb will brighten, you can choose your desired light level. Works great with Edison bulbs, or any incandescent light bulb. Easy to work with: simply screw off the base to access the 2 wire connections inside. Perfect for restoring old lamps and lights or for all of your homemade lighting fixtures.

I was surprised by the the design of the dimmable lamp socket, The two section are joined (very securely) with a threaded collar, not the press together mechanical joint of the switch I replaced. -
Fantastic Product
I have a lamp that I purchased from Restoration Hardware over ten years ago. But it stopped working. This particular product matches it perfectly and has extremely smooth dimming. The knob feels good in the hand and is long enough to grasp without searching for it. I am highly satisfied.

Tremendous value
Thanks to Snakehead for a well-organized website, wide array of products, strong customer support, fair pricing, and prompt delivery.
I have a swing-arm wall sconce that had begun to flicker (dimmer switch with an LED dimmable bulb; also tried incandescent bulb). Took apart the socket, checked wiring and concluded that the issue was a circuit board issue. Went back to the store from which the sconce was purchased and they were of no assistance (don't sell spare parts, don't repair). Full sconce would have been >$400 to replace.
After numerous Google searches, I came across Snakehead and immediately found the compatible socket. Socket received from Snakehead appears to be identical to the original (color, manufacturing, even the circuit board) Installed it this weekend and the issue is resolved for <$10. Quality made, perfect fit
Had bedside wall lamp that flickered, then eventually stopped working completely, originally bought from Restoration Hardware, who ironically enough no longer carries any parts. Took lamp apart, figured would give replacing socket a try. Found this website after searching around, the part looked close in shape and to the original bronze color. Delivered in less than a week, fit the lamp perfectly and it now works great. Well made, heavy duty part at fair price, not found at any of the big home centers, or even many electrical supply sites. Well done!
