Beautiful, unique and sturdy, these vintage style Brass Lamp Socket with a 3 Way Turn Knob Switch are absolutely the best quality around, they're cast brass and have a screw on base instead of the plated brass and snap-on base like cheap run-of-the-mill sockets. Available in 6 finishes, they have a 3-way on/off rotary turn knob and are super simple to work with: simply screw off the base to access the 2 wire connections inside. Perfect for restoring old lamps and lights or for all of your homemade lighting fixtures.

- Cap base has 1/8 IPS standard lamp pipe thread with set screw
- 3-way sockets allow you to use a 3 way bulb to get 3 levels of light with each knob click, or you can use any regular bulb and you will have the one level of light, 2 click for on, 2 clicks for off.
- - Installation note: These sockets, like most self wire-able metal sockets, come with a cardboard lining inside. This should be left in as it acts as an insulator. Do not remove it.

l had high hopes
This light socket seems to be very well designed with solid material and construction. Unfortunately the shell has an interference with the base due to a deep indentation opposite the switch knob. This requires excessive force for reassembly of the shell to the base so I am unable to use it.
RESPONSE FROM SHV: Please contact us for help with this (you didn't leave your name), the indentation is there on purpose!!! It is designed to line up with the notch on the base, and when they are lined up it locks the pieces together so they don't spin while you are tightening them! We show this on the pictures in the listing, there is no need to force the pieces together, they fit together nicely and lock in place.

Much Higher Quality Than Generic Sockets
I ordered 4 of the antique brass colored sockets - they arrived quickly and in good condition. They're much higher quality than the equivalents at Home Depot, and cost about the same. One thing to note: make sure that you leave the cardboard insert inside - it prevents shock and allows the bulb to seat properly. When all assembled they are nice and snug, and the on-off switch has a good mechanical feel. They also look great.
